Wilting Maple leaves in early Sring

Post by WMC »

Hi all
After some advice for my maples with drooping leaves. I have 5 of them with the same issue. They vary in age from 15yo to 2yo but leaves all look the same. They are certainly not dry but i havn't needed to water much through winter as they get plenty of rain (got ot love Melbourne). They all sprouted new growth very well but leaves are wilting. See attached Pics....Any advice please?

Hi WMC,
I am by no means a maple expert but this to me just looks like a Japanese Maple with new foliage leafing out ... I wouldn't be worried at all! As the foliage hardens and matures it will green up and expand out from the droopy look to maximise sun exposure. Tridents do this too.
My one and only Japanese maple looked almost identical about a week or so ago and now looks like this ...

I think yours look just fine ...
