The gingko is probably around 20 years old Bodhi and was started as a cutting.
I'm currently working on getting the branches to complement each other and still trying to get some ramification - what a slow process that turns out to be with this species. I'm hoping that with increased ramification the leaves will reduce but any other advice gratefully received.

One thing to note is that this one has started to produce a pendulous growth from the trunk that I believe the Japanese refer to as 'chi-chi'

Niel, I have mame ginkgo with very small foliage...Do you have the ginkgo with the tiny foliage there?
This is my big one...has no taper...the leaves are huge, but the trunk is 5-6cm diameter

And this is the dwarf gingko with small foliage.

I have not noticed a small leaved gingko at any shows or nurseries here Neli. If it is any slower to grow than the normal one (as many small leaved varieties are) I do not want one. These ones are frustrating enough for me.

I have no idea how it grows yet, but I think it will eventually make a nice mame.

Best colour I've seen on any of my tree's so far.

Been so great to be able to keep the damn bugs off destroying all my leaves this season!

My gingko is now pretty close to full color.

Acer palmatum as bonsai and in the garden are looking good too.

Nothing even close in Brisvegas unfortunately, we miss out on a lot of the colour. The draw back of living in the tropics I guess.

We still have 16 overnight and nothing on the forecast for anything under 9 I think the trees are grateful.

Stunning colour on the Ginko Shibui and great tree, have to agree though, SLLOOWWW growing.

Autumn? What Autumn? I was outside during one of the rain breaks today (getting the Tamarind pics for Neli) when I noticed something on my the Persimmon tree in the yard. On checking I found the damn thing is shooting! Not only is Autumn finished in Hervey Bay, but Winter as well from the look of my tree.

This Berberis has really put on a good show this year . It has a purple foliage over summer . In the last few weeks it has slowly colored up starting from the inner, lower leaves working up . The Berberis growing as landscape plants in my garden lost their leaves a month ago and didn't look half as good .

I'm not too familiar with Berberis, I'll have to look into this species.
