Re: Black Scissors Bonsai Styling
the jins on the trunk are good but I just don't get that it needs a giant white exclamation mark sticking out of the top of a very nice tree

Not sure it's a jaguar, maybe a rhinoceros with the Jin at the top of the tree. Naming a tree that's two minutes old? Hmmmmm, not sure about that.
The sharis on the trunk are a little ugly, the trunk line without them was much more attractive IMO.
Not my tree and only my observations.

Interesting... haven't really come across the steam bending technique in bonsai before so that was new. Agree with earlier comments re: Jin and definitely shari... but for me the most excruciating element was the music, I think a new soundtrack is in order!!

Sadly the entire series of Black Scissors videos have music, and it's often too loud to hear the commentary. Still, it's an interesting experience to see what everyone has been doing with the trees they present.but for me the most excruciating element was the music, I think a new soundtrack is in order!!

Video is quite annoying, bad English and that music, amazing transformation yeah think the Jin at the top has to go and shari's could have been a lot better.

Re: Black Scissors Bonsai Styling
I didnt click the link but as soon as I read the posts I knew exactly what tree you were talking about. I did think that the steam technique was good, and I've seen Grant use the blowtorch technique to bend jins. Perhaps we could all have a go at creating a "how to" bonsai video. Working on different techniques for each one and have some of the experienced members do a start to finish video.
So the Redwood turns to the Bonsai and says "Lend me a Tenner"......

Gee, sorry Lads, but reading this thread I thought I was on another Forum for a minute there.
