[FREE] Brisbane urban yamadori Murraya
Not sure where to put this one. Mods please move if I've posted in the wrong place.
My new neighbour is wanting to remove a hedge of what I think are 5 large Murraya plants. Please feel free to correct me or elaborate, anyone.
I suggested that Bonsai people might want them, and she would be glad not to kill them, so I am taking expressions of interest for an urban dig. The hedge is in a small back yard, with limited access (i.e., through the house and down the stairs), so no large equipment can be used. They abut some garden edging, so it may not be possible to get many roots on this side of the plant. If multiple people are interested, we would need to co-ordinate a time to get it done together. Located in Tingalpa, Brisbane. Some photos (my iPhone is there for size comparison. It was too early to crack open a beer )
I have no interest in large bonsai due to a bad back, and am particularly poorly suited to digging them up, so all 5 are available to anyone keen.
Please post your interest in this thread and then PM me.

Not buxus, but Murraya. What a great opportunity to get some excellent stock

I'm in brisbane, but away all day today at a carving workshop with Tony Bebb. If they're still there tomorrow, I could probably dig up one or two....

I think it's more of a matter of arranging a group with some notice to get it all done at once at the owner's convenience. So, Melbrackstone, you have first dibs on a tree or two.melbrackstone wrote:I'm in brisbane, but away all day today at a carving workshop with Tony Bebb. Re: [FREE] Brisbane urban yamadori Murraya
that is surprising!Redsonic wrote:Bump. Not much interest so far. Anyone......?
Someone go and collect them.
Cut them back hard and pot up in a poly box, in 12 months each will be worth $50-80 at least, to sell on if you do not want to keep them all

Final bump (on a weekday); if no more interest, I'll see if the neighbour is happy for just Melbracstone to take 1 or 2.

Re: [FREE] Brisbane urban yamadori Murraya
Great! It looks like we have some interest in this.
I have (in order of their dibs):
Melbrackstone;
Pierre;
Cmndapnda.
I'll ask the neighbour today if next Saturday 16th July in the morning suits her.
If anyone has a solution for the offcuts (e.g. spare green waste voucher for the tip), I am sure it would be appreciated. I have a van I can use to take the offcuts to the tip, but not a voucher. Our neighbour is so new, I doubt she has one.
