This one also survived, and might just be my dark horse,
No refinement done on this one, just letting it grow
Cheers,

The Nebari on this one is just so epic!
One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Re: [Kez] Azalea sp.
well this one is going through some kind of autumn thing,
Having never grown azalea in Canberra I have no idea of it is struggling or if this is what they do, I did check out a local nursery and some of the azalea there were also yellowing so maybe its normal
Anyway here it is, Plan is to cut it back after flowering has finished and then see what it puts out before the finish date

Yes, you'll lose your oldest leaves when the frosts hit - there's no problem with the tree. Maybe check the care calendar in the CBS website for when you would want to cut an azalea back here, it will be up to a month later than in Sydney.
Nice roots, looks good overall to me.

Re: [Kez] Azalea sp.
Azaleas are semi-deciduous, so a little discolouration and leaf drops are OK as Gavin said.
I'd think about sealing up that large scar with some cut paste, it'll heal over quicker.

I don't trust Bonsai, they are a little shady.
