Hi folks.
I have found a very cool old Aeonium Haworthii in a hanging basket that id like to try bonsai...
has anyone had any experience with these as either bonsais or general plants?
As far as im aware its coming into its growing season but was wondering whether it would grow new foliage if i cut all the branches back closer to the base.
Pretty confident it will, but i know some of these succulents do weird things when cut down too much.
Thanks
Any Succulent experts??? Aeonium Haworthii

Not sure you could treat these like Jade because of the leaf structure. So I'm unsure how they would ramify.

yeah i had done an image search too, but from what i could see they either have no branches/stems and grow similar to an aloe or something like that, or they have real long spindly branches like mine with 1 maybe 2 leaf clusters/spirals on each branch. This got me thinking that maybe if the leaf cluster is removed only that part will put out roots and the branch on the host plant mite possibly die off. Probably wrong but was the assumption i came too based on the image search.
Its actually quite a pretty plant during the day so may just fight the urge to put anything and everything in a bonsai pot and enjoy it for what it is for now and maybe do my own tests on some of the more unnecessary branches,

I suspect they'd do a nice job as an accent plant, rather than a bonsai... just knock off the top bit and put it into some coarse mix, and no doubt it'll take root.
