I can't help with the ID, but maybe a more detailed pic of the leaves would help those with more knowledge.

It's a tough one from that photo but could be metrosideros ( nz Christmas bush. )

Looks like Pearcy's Identifiction is best - leptospermum.

I've repotted after taking a cm off the extremely root bound tree to get it into my biggest pot. Fingers crossed it pulls through.

Where is pearcys guess?

How big are the leaves?
