Mbunro,
The barcoded signature on that ancient tokonome pot - I'm sure someone on here will be able to recognise it?

And we have a winner!Keep Calm and Ramify wrote:Had to withdraw this beauty from entering the recent Kokufu at the last minute - FYI, apparently "azalea's" need watering too.
Unfortunately, It's still alive - good news?

Ok, two ugly ducklings waiting (in vain) to turn into beautiful swans.

Re: "My Funny Valentine" THE UGLIEST BONSAI Competition
Here is mine. Most are possum chomped at the moment but this one only copped a little chew. Mt Fuji flowering cherry, in the ground attempting fattening, complete with ugly high up graft, rose suckers growing through the colander and accent weeds. It’s proving to me so far that it’s not suitable for bonsai:

Treeman was so in awe of this one, that he PM'd me begging for a slightly better, clearer photo - here you go Mr Treeman, for your viewing pleasure!

Re: "My Funny Valentine" THE UGLIEST BONSAI Competition
My second tree is my ugliest, really loved jacarandas and their purple flowers so thought would be great to get one as a bonsai. What I didn’t know is that you will never see the flowers as bonsai and how hard they are to train...
Basically have just let it grow then cut back hard, thought I would put a bend in it a couple of times
