Re: BIMER ANNUAL SHOW MT COOT-THA BOTANICAL GARDENS
Had an awesome morning at the show. You old fellas can move quick when there's plants for sale! Picked up 3 beautiful Marie Hewartson pots and had a good chat with a few club members. Got a hot lead on some clerodendrums to follow up on...

You're not wrong there Muddy!
Picked up a lovely Juniper at the show, then raced over to BSoQ meeting for an all day workshop. Thanks for the lucky door bonsai books and all the great info today!
Gonna go back to the show tomorrow to actually appreciate the show itself when im not rushing.

I had some "urgent business to sort out" before work yesterday and headed down to the show. Great display with some really impressive trees, I was blown away with the Clero's.
Got back to work at 1 after dropping off a beautiful Marie pot and a nice piece of Murraya stock at home

Don't make your trees look like bonsai, make your bonsai look like trees

Looks like i wasn't the only one happy to see Marie's stand yesterday morning..... 2 more pots added to the collection !
As usual, Bruce, Tony & Co have done a tremendous job at setting up the show. And yes, beautiful trees on display...
Cheers again,
Pierre

Hi Muddy Benny305 and Pierre,
Thank you for your support, Bimer put on an excellent show, and I was heartened to see 5 Exhibition trees in Hewartson pots.
Thanks all

what species is that . The leaves look like willowleaf but certainly not the bark but then again it looks like a olive but leaves are different unless its recently been defoliated ......? My next theory is water gum ?Bougy Fan wrote:And one more . . . . .

Re: BIMER ANNUAL SHOW MT COOT-THA BOTANICAL GARDENS
Thanks Pierre, but Bruce and I can't take all the credit. The hard working committee put in a lot of hours preparing, and all the wonderful volunteers made the weekend a success. Thanks to the catering team who kept us fueled up all weekend tooAs usual, Bruce, Tony & Co have done a tremendous job at setting up the show.
The feedback from the public was positive - the consensus was the best show so far.
I finished packing up and left by 5.00pm yesterday Gavin, then I have been concreting in fence posts today. I will try and post some photos soon.
Regards Tony

@Matthew, I believe that's a Clerodendrum, one of the species that seem to do very well here in the sub-tropics.
I'm sorry I wasn't able to make the exhibition, and look forward to seeing some photos.

Re: BIMER ANNUAL SHOW MT COOT-THA BOTANICAL GARDENS
Hi Matthew yes Mel is right - it's a Clero. If you don't have any you must get some - a very under rated bonsai species and they do so well in QLD. And once you have one they are very easy to propagate
