i like the shape of this tree, Anthony! Not so sure about the oval pot though. I never thought I'd say this, but I prefer it in the rectangular pot! :o

No worries Mel they are actually two different trees, fixed my heading up, but you might be right time to let the maple pot one go for a rectangle one...cheers Mel

LOL...sorry Anthony, I thought it was a progression.

:)

I have a big ol fig that I'm working on, and after seeing yours in the unglazed rectangle, I reckon I'll definitely put mine into one as well.

Thanks Mel,

The beauty of this species is that it does not constantly fight (with) you to keep the leaf size down with a naturally much smaller leaf than PJF and its other attractive attributes with a glossy leaf and white trunk.

cheers Anthony

Very humble start to this guy, put a gentle bend in it at the get go and then a handy shoot popped low left side so I went with it, thought it would add a better dimension, just another season or two to look more convincing i think?

Here is another willow leaf correct name Ficus Salicifolia

With some inspiration in my area, home of many a great fig, you will see a lot of figs paired up especially around the dairy farm milking stations. So with that in mind I put two leftover very ordinary figs (stand alone) together to make something of it ...cheers Anthony

Microcarpas are great. I had a large one that just couldbt adjust to my winters so i donated it to the national collection. I believe its doing well. Shortest internodes id ever seen on any fig

Thanks Mathew ,Mel,Kevin

Totally agree Mathew, since growing some of the Microcarpa's I can vouch that they are number one for Bonsai culture then followed by Willow leaf.yes with these species internodes can be grown quite tight, don 't have to work nearly as hard to keep leaf size down and I find less problems to pests, can 't really explain that one (pests just like the Aussie cuisine lol).
