Re: Mesmer eyes
I think I saw this at the recent BSV exhibition... not quite as many blooms fully open as it has now, very nice display.

Re: Mesmer eyes
Good tree Gerard but I think it deserves a new pot. Maybe you could snaffle one at the convention?

Height is about 25 cmmelbrackstone wrote:The flowers are just so pretty! What size is this, Gerard?
Yes, much nicer with all the flowers open. Interestingly the centre of the flower starts off pale green and changes to a dark cherry colour after a few days.Ryceman3 wrote:I think I saw this at the recent BSV exhibition... not quite as many blooms fully open as it has now, very nice display.

Re: Mesmer eyes
The flowers look so nice. I've been trying to find a tea tree that grows locally to Canberra.

Re: Mesmer eyes
This variety is local to Canberra, it was developed at Bywong nursery. It is a cross cultivar of leptospermum scoparium, leptospermum macrocarpum and leptospermum duense.Keels wrote:The flowers look so nice. I've been trying to find a tea tree that grows locally to Canberra.

Re: Mesmer eyes
Keels, the local native plants society has a sale twice yearly at the ANBG - sadly, just last weekend. They publish a plant list a couple of weeks earlier, and note which species are local. Leptospermum obovatum is local, and usually available (and I happen to like it!) - there are others. You might also like to explore Cool Country Plants at Pialligo - they have a lot of interesting tube stock, and label stuff if it's local. Mesmer Eyes grows well here, and is available.
Good hunting,
Gavin
