Anyone have an id on this?

Post by BlackPaul »

Hi ladies and gents. Some council workers around the corner were kind enough to give me this little tree. Can anyone make a positive ID on it? Cheers. Image

From the compact growth and hirsute new foliage it looks a lot like Little John

I reckon you guys have hit it on the head. I was a bit confused when I saw little gum nut type things all over it, then I saw the long rows of nuts like a bottle brush. Thanks [THUMBS UP SIGN]

At the risk of appearing pedantic again, let me point out that the left one is a branch and the right one the trunk. You'd get a nicer flow perhaps if you kept the trunk, and a better healing wound. In your place, however, I'd also let it depend on the branching higher up - which side looks best for future development.
..... Or you could keep both!
