This sandpaper fig grown from seed quite few years ago and worked on the last couple of seasons...excuse the training pot and flooded for now
Stands 10 inches on the limit
A way to go, but a start
Leaves reduce quite well and looking forward to the next seasons with some handy structure in place, might make a show one day?...never seen it as serious specimen in a collection or a show unfortunately, maybe you have, feel free to show if you have.... cheers

Re: Shohin- Ficus Coronata
Hi Anthony ,
Well on the way with this one. Looking forward to future up dates, maybe yours will be the first to make the big time....They have a special charm ,maybe because they are so different. I potted up several this year , still need a bit of work.
Tall Forest has been going crazy ,just trimmed back a few branches so as to let the next level of branches thicken up. Cheers John.

Re: Shohin- Ficus Coronata
cheers John, I find they grow at a reasonable pace but not fat in pot culture and there new growth hardens off pretty quick which maybe impedes big growth?, this one wants to grow so it will be difficult to hold at this height, but find the material very adaptable to bonsai, hopefully others will try the tree.
Look forward to your trees progression...cheers John
Here it is earlier with its bones, needed heavy wire for size of its branches for a small guy.
Maybe a Aussie pot next year
