Yamadori Shohin Crab Apple in Penny Davis Pot
This tree was once much larger but this is the version of the smallest tree within the available material. I really like the wild branching it has now. It took a while to get the untamed look but it is my preferred version.
It looks good in flower and in fruit, but I like it best in its naked state.

I love it, Watto. Beautiful little tree. I like the lengthy horizontal branching, it's a bit different, and I can imagine that it would be spectacular with fruit hanging all around it.

I'll certainly post again if it flowers well this year.
This is what it looks like when in fruit but the photo is a few years ago before I took some time to "unstraighten" (that's a new word I just made up) the branches.

I gave this tree some new shoes recently. This wasn't because I didn't like the Penny Davis pot, not at all I think the pot is great, but I thought the tree needed a slightly smaller pot to emphasis the trunk width of the tree.
I hope you like. The photo doesn't truly reflect the colour of the pot which is a deep green.

Looks great Watto. I can't see the green in the pot, but am able to imagine it. Lovely little tree.

I may need to employ a new photographer Mel?

Although the new pot doesn't look as pretty as the previous, I agree that the dimensions are much better and it emphasises the trunk width. Cool tree, don't forget to post when it flowers!

Re: Yamadori Shohin Crab Apple in Penny Davis Pot
I'm a bit excited as this little darling is going to flower this year, not much but I did trim it rather harshly earlier so I wasn't expecting too much colour.
Anyway the buds are forming and when it flowers I will post another photo.

Re: Yamadori Shohin Crab Apple in Penny Davis Pot
I failed to post a photo when it was flowering properly but I am trying to make up for it by posting a photo of it with its fruit.
There are a few branches that need to be "unstraightened" and I will probably attend to that at leaf fall.

Looks good Watto. I'm struggling to keep my crabapple from growing 2m long branches with no leaves other than terminal...perhaps I just have a dud...
Or maybe I'm the dud and can't keep on top of it...lol
