Ulmus Procera
English elm. This is by far and away one of the most exciting natural “raft style” bonsai in the world. In 1988 it was dug from a farmer’s paddock in Gippsland Victoria where it had been grazed for many years by cattle. Over the years it has passed through the hands of a few owners but it is the present owner who has brought the tree to its current state of perfection. The ramification of this tree is best appreciated in winter and springtime as the new buds emerge.
