Build A Bonsai- Put movement in a trunk or branch.

Post by Mitchell »

Here's another image, of how to construct a trunk line or give a branch movement.
This was also something I struggled understanding early on. In a zig-zag fashion you choose alternating shoots to establish the curves.

Very basic, but you got to start somewhere. :)

Mitchell that is the perfect answer to Sticks in pots :palm: . I like your thinking with the broom too.

The mrs reckons I would not know one end of a broom from the other.

I have an ear ache to go with the one I will have on friday with my answer  :shake:

Again I like your thinking there.Pup

Make sure it clear and concise, Bounce idea off me if you wish :-)

One other i Really want to see , is a good graphic on the internal structure / layers of a tree, eg
Heartwood, Sapwood, Cambium, Phloem, Bark ( anything else I have forgotten) ?

Like this one here http://www.arborday.org/trees/treeguide/anatomy.cfm
but in a form we can republish on AB.
