SELL: Japanese Maple Mikawa Yatsubusa & Kashima stock trees (S.E MEL)

Post by TimS »

As i continue to reassess what i want to continue with and what i'm open to moving on to other people i'm putting up these two Japanese Maples. Both nursery stock so they are grafted and could both benefit from layering to raise the root height (leaving them still grafted) to start them as bonsai.

I had planned to do that myself, and if they don't sell here or other places i might still but also they are cluttering my patio up. To give a sense of scale, they are both in 50cm nursery pots. I can give exact measurements if you're interested) and are ready to be repotted into smaller grow pots/ boxes this winter

1. Mikawa Yatsubusa dwarf Japanese Maple: It has some interesting movement and i spent quite a while looking for one that wasn't just a straight stem as they often are. Early days just starting out, i took some air layers from it so as not to waste good material in cutting back, but could use the space more than the tree now. $350

2. Kashima dwarf Japanese Maple; pleasing small leaf, interesting shape that could be begun as a bonsai exactly as it is now which was my plan in effect. Just recently trimmed back and these bud like crazy from bare wood after a hard cut back so you could really do whatever you want with it. Naturally very small leaf (can be quite large after hard cut back but will return to small soon enough) Had tried layers but they were not successful as the stems were too thin. Again could use the space more than the tree and i have a second Kashima anyway though this is arguably the better tree of the two Kashimas i have $500
