AZALEA 50+ years $160

Post by MelaQuin »

Ground grown AZALEA. Name unknown but definitely over 50 years of age.
Dug up in January, now full of new growth on trunk.
Should not be repotted until late in the year.
Prolific flowering. All buds removed after potting but new ones have come on and are beautiful.
This tree is several years from being a bonsai but it has great potential and is responding enthusiastically to the fresh soil and TLC.
The training pot is actually a soil sieve - the only thing big enough to take this tree. So there's a bonus when you repot it.
It is HEAVY. I did not realise how big it was until I actually started to lift it from the ground.

You won't find this type of stock in a nursery. It is definitely a one off.
Located in Lewisham [Sydney] NSW.
$160
[Strath refers to the suburb where I got it and is not an Azalea name]

Bargain here somebody. As MelaQuin said, you wont find this stock for this price at any nursery. Grab it while you can!

If you bring it up to me, Melaquin, I can freight it anywhere in Aus. through Fastways. Anyone interested, bring up their website and find out how much it will cost you by typing in my postcode - 2283 (as pick up) and your postcode as the destination and use the "Standard User" price.

The azalea is in the coarse open mix I use and is sitting rock solid in the pot but much as I would like to move it on, it has only been in the pot 7 months and I don't know if the roots could stand the jigging of distance travel and unknown handling on the way. It is important to me that any tree I sell is received by the buyer in good condition and healthy and once it would hit a carrier it is out of my hands and that worries me.
