(SELL) mature bonsai Tridents and Plum {MEL}

Post by TimS »

Hi all,

I'm putting the feelers out there for three of my trees, two tridents and a plum that i would not be against selling. All are going to be pick up in S.E Melbourne or deliver to the same.

1. Plum: I believe it is Prunus americana. Really lovely deadwood feature, with a bit of a restyle its not far off show-read. Highest branch is at around 38cm, with the main canopy being at around 32cm. One of gods little creatures enjoyed the leaves one night, but they are shooting back happily now. I'm happy to hold it until it fully leafs out again if you are concerned. $450

2. Trident Maple Root over Rock #1. I have offered this before with no takers, so i'll drop the price a bit. A nice little root over rock trident with a dead wood feature on the back side. Pot is a lovely Hachinoki round pot that compliments the rock really beautifully. Canopy height is around 33cm. $175

3. Trident Maple Root over Rock #2. This is a tricky one; partly because i really do like this tree, partly because of the price i'm going to put on it especially during these strange days, and partly because i know there is not so much interest in virtually show ready trees compared to material that can be worked further.

This tree is however an absolute delight Standing at approximately 40cm tall it has a naturally small leaf, that reduces even further with defoliation and gives reliable and consistant flame reds in Autumn. The bark is developing some nice roughness to it down low where it spreads over the rock, and as you can see my god is that rock really a part of this tree now. The root flare into the soil is beautiful. No lop-sidedness just roots cascading into the soil all around the base. If you are looking for a show quality tree, to stand on its own or as an accent to a large conifer this is a strong contender. One or two branches i have been growing in that need further ramification, but with how frequently you can defoliate trident, the ramification development is accelerated dramatically. The pot it is in here is a cloud shape Tokoname Koyo in a very uncommon colour. I have not seen another one in person, and the only time i have seen this colour replicated is on kusamono containers. The red fades from a very dark parch out to almost a light pink, and the turquoise green has a crackled glaze through it.

Now the uncomfortable bit. There will be two prices; one with the pot and one without the pot (meaning i will slip pot it into a mass production chinese pot for you) as this pot may not be to everyones taste. WITHOUT POT $1,200. WITH POT $1,500

No one after a pretty much show ready trident with naturally very small leaves hey?

Last price drop as I’m downsizing the collection and want it going to a good home.

I’m losing my shirt on it offering it well below what I paid, but I’ve got it in a cheap but nice pale blue green pot instead of the Japanese one so I’ll go $750 out the door.

Since no interest, and the fact it cost me a lot more than $750, I’ve decided I’ll keep this one.

As such I guess this thread is now finished :tu2:
