I hear they have them at ray nesci in nsw. I’ve tried getting stuff posted from them but it was quite a mission I gave up.

If you can't find anything.... You should try an Australian
equivalent like nothofagus gunnii.
The tree is the Deciduous Beech Nothofagus gunnii. It's the only deciduous native tree in Tasmania and it's rather rare. At the end of Autumn it changes colour to red, orange and gold.

Nothofagus is one of the oldest genera of flowering plants in the world with a fossil record stretching back 80 million years. It's regarded by scientists as one of the keys to understanding how vegetation evolved and migrated throughout the southern hemisphere.

The Tasmanian Deciduous Beech grows in dense stands, but even in autumn colours it's not that easy to find. The beech is mainly restricted to high rainfall areas in the central and western mountains of Tasmania, with a few minor populations on some of the southern mountains.

What species Susan? (''Japanese hornbeam'' doesn't tell you much) I'd be surprised if anyone in Australia has C. japonica..[ This one.. ...... https://www.greatplantpicks.org/plantlists/view/300. ] But then I'm easily surprised these days. :palm:

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Japanese Hornbeam at Tien’s but I could be wrong. He’s defiantly had European hornbeam
