One of our very early club members passed away last year. His wife is downsizing and has asked me to help find good homes for the last of the bonsai.
Heights given include the pot

Trident maple, 1983. $500 74cm high including pot 60 cm wide and 50cm deep

These 2 figs are labelled as Moreton bay fig but I'd say much more likely to be Ficus rubiginosa. There was a lot of debate back then and many PJs were misidentified simply because they don't have rusty leaves.
Moreton Bay fig 1982. $900 65cmtall, 65cm wide and 50cm deep
This one is a superb example of twin trunk bonsai design and has excellent nebari.

Moreton Bay fig 1884 $600. 55cm tall, 60 cm wide, 50 cm deep
The really low right trunk gives this one great character. I'd remove the aerial roots but will leave that to the new owner.

The final tree is labelled as WA fig, 1883. If anyone knows what species it could be please let us know.

PM or email interest. Post can be arranged but will require extra packaging to prevent damage to well established branch structure. Large size will mean additional cost for post delivery.

Latest update on these old trees:
Trident - Sold
3 Trunk 1984 fig - Sold

That still leaves the twin trunk ficus. Started in 1982 makes it 39 years old now. It has to be one of the best examples of twin trunk ficus I've seen and we don't see them up for sale very often. Looks great all round. The pot is Japanese made with a 'chop' stamped in the base.

Also the one labelled West Australian fig from 1983 (apologies for the earlier typos which added a century to the ages of a couple of those trees)
Good age and only $300. Pot is mass produced Japanese stamped 'made in Japan'

The figs have just settled in here and have finally started to grow with the warmer spring weather.

Yes Neil first two very much look like F. rubiginosa always difficult without viewing the syconia/fruit and the last one with the narrow leaf shape and drip tip leaf very much a characteristics of F. obliqua common name small leaf ficus and again fruit the true way.

An update on these trees:
The person who wanted the trident maple is no longer able to take it so it is now available again. There were several enquiries about this one when I first posted so let me know if still interested. The bad news is that I've discovered it is just too large to send through the post so buyers will need to pick up or arrange some other delivery.
I've let the new shoots grow to give it some strength but today I trimmed back to shape.

I agree Symon. The current owner wants these to go to good homes. If they were mine to sell I'd be asking way more.
I now have a buyer hoping to pick the maple and WA fig up sometime this week or next.

Hi Shibui is the twin trunk ficus (1982) still available? Also did the buyer come through for the maple and the twin trunk ficus? I'd possibly be interested in the maple...

The ficus sounds like a Desert or Small- leaved Rock Fig, Ficus Brachypoda, very common in WA, I germinated 6 back in 1980, still have 4 of them.

Thanks for that ID Eric. I'll go with F. brachypoda until someone tells me different.

Sorry guys. All now have new owners.
The last of these old bonsai sold at Bonsai North West show last weekend but I did not update this thread right away.

If anyone is really interested in owning an old fig I have decided to pass on one of my own old PJ figs that's getting too big for me to handle but it is much bulkier than any of these so higher price.
