I decided a year or so ago that I was only going to acquire Aussie natives from now on and Mii didn't have many natives. I was very very tempted by some of his pines though.
I did however leave there somewhat lighter in the pocket. That Tiger Bark Ficus that Mii is holding in picture 3299... originally imported into Victoria 30 years ago from Japan... well that's now mine along with a 2 man rubiginosa with an amazing base

Just got back from picking up my little Port Jackson fig from Mii.

His collection is now sold. About 6 trees went to locals like me and an astute collector from Queensland flew down on the weekend and made him an offer he couldn't refuse on the rest. Took the trees and all the stands too!
There was a sad feeling in the air as we walked around his trees, discussing the history of them and techniques he has used. The pain he was feeling from having to leave behind years and years of work was evident. At this stage, Mii isn't even sure if he will be able to start bonsai again...

Anyway, on a lighter note, here is my new acquisition;

That's a very nice piece of material you've got yourself there. Be interesting to see it after a good pruning.
