FURTHER UPDATE TO JUNIPER IN PAT K. POT
Hi guys,
made the big cut today, removing that low RHS branch and will probably shorten the jin that i left.
i also shortened the LHS foliage and thinned out all branches.
I always preach that the lowest branch should be on the side opposite the lean for balance. This is another example
cheers

Much better Dave! It looks more balanced and the movement in the trunk makes it look like it is dancing!
Thanks for the update

Much nicer dave, Good onya
only thing now is to do a little bit to the bottom right branch and foliage. it looks to me like someone poking their tounge out.
imagine the tree blowing raspberries at the one next door

Re: FURTHER UPDATE TO JUNIPER IN PAT K. POT
To be honest Dave I didnt like this bonsai when you first posted it but now... I really like it!
I would be making the new jin smaller or wiring some different shape into it. It doesnt fit in with the rest of the shape of the jins and branches. Im only new to this so please tell me if im out of line.
You love your pat k pots dont you

Dave,
defiantly an improvement. It was always there just needed to be shown. I like the feel of the overall tree and think with some fine wiring at some point you may have to sell it to me when i come down Im still not sure about that jin on the trunk near the first LHB jin but maybe to close proximity but i havent seen it in person and seeing them in person often gives a differant perspective. great work mate and another nice pat pot.

Re: FURTHER UPDATE TO JUNIPER IN PAT K. POT
Hi guys ,
thanks for the feedback
It's funny, I used to like the tree before the makeover, but it is certainly improved now.
I will definately shorten the newly created Jin to a short stubb as I said earlier.
I seem to be one out with those low Jins, but guess what? My vote counts and they are staying
I think they do look better in real life as the entire rear of the trunk is sharied.
As far as the tongue goes...... The truth is that as you know, photos highlight every flaw. When I photographed the tree the "tongue" branch looked like it had an acute angle of foliage near the trunk, when viewed through the lens....SO I TRIMMED IT & NOW I HAVE A B......Y TONGUE
cheers
Dave

Re: FURTHER UPDATE TO JUNIPER IN PAT K. POT
dave all in all its much better but there is still a balance issue for me.. first if you can tell me is the apex turning to the left and looking down at the low left branch? then i can comment farther.

Re: FURTHER UPDATE TO JUNIPER IN PAT K. POT
Dave is it possible to bring some of that shari to the front to give the trunk a twisted look. Then you could posible ditch some of those jins.
There appears to many for such lush growth. JMO pup

Re: FURTHER UPDATE TO JUNIPER IN PAT K. POT
Hi Dave,
I love this tree.
I love it better when I imagine it without any jins at all. I do like the jin on the first left branch, but the rest is an overkill for me. How come the shari is hiding way out the back?
Cheers,
Leigh.

Re: FURTHER UPDATE TO JUNIPER IN PAT K. POT
Hi Guys, you'll have a field day now.
The Apex actually divides into two, If I lost half of it , would take a fare while to reorganize it.
The 3rd pic would look OK if the lowest rear branch was to be removed
cheer

Hi guys,
here's a composite photo using the rear as the new front. rear branch removed(best branch).
Doesn't mean I'm not happy with it in its present form, this is purely for discussion
cheers

Dave that to me is the way to go. Your composite is a really nice tree.
I also like pics 34 and 32 as you point out though it is still your tree, but I see more value if I were to buy now.
