Hi AJ , mate they look like you could throw them together but to construct it from scratch takes a little more effort . If only light weight rocks this size were available the hard work would be done a lot quicker . A natural rock of this size would be impossible for me to lift . The rock itself is 1meter high and weighs 11 kgs so it quite light , finished and landscaped at around 12.5 kgs. I can actually tuck it under my wing and walk around with it .

Hi Fiveoffive , mate give yourself 20 years and an obsession ta boot and it just might happen . Failing that come over and buy the lot , heading back under the knife in 5 weeks so i think its time for an Alpineart once in a life time "Break a Leg" or is that "Fix my Leg" Sale.

Cheers Alpine

Awesome result Alpine.

Great execution and I repeat how cool it is that you take the time and effort to share the steps.
I'm glad you used the Juni's in the end and I reckon they suit your landscape really well.

All the best for 5 weeks time.
One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Hi Boics , mate i was i two minds , but the Shimps were a calling for a new home . I hope they fix my leg properly this time , should weigh a bit less without the scrap metal too .

Hi Strawbs , i hope to squeeze 1 or 2 in before i'm laid up again , can't do much on crutches , watering will be the task of the day , but this time the lovely bride is taking holidays just to keep me in line .

Cheers Guys . Alpine

This has undergone contant replacement of the plants
P1090095.JPG
P1090096.JPG
P1090097.JPG
None of the original junipers survived .Various circumstances have contributed to the losses {lessons learned again} but its back on track and growing well . This had another re-wire today and a small trim , its green so its a good thing .

Very nice Alpine...did not expect it to turn so nice...could not figure what you are doing before the final.
I ask lots of questions that sound like suggestions. Please remember I am a inquisitive newbie trying to figure out why You made a particular decision, in order to learn.

Hi Neli , don't you just love it when a plan comes together , even if it take a couple of goes to succeed . It needs a re-wire using heavy gauge copper on 2 of the straighter trunks however they are getting a bit thick to get the movement I desire . Can only but try , but I can't afford to break them as I don't have any replacement .

Cheers . Alpine
