great little treeRyceman3 wrote: ↑April 28th, 2021, 1:43 pm Autumn update. Cleaned up, re-wired and styled today ... I have to say it was a bit of an epic effort. Rewiring on a little tree like this that has pretty reasonable ramification is hard work!! (at least at my skill level), still - I think it came up quite nicely.
I also decided to remove the bottom back branch/sacrifice. Having done that, I will be looking to change the planting angle next repot and incorporate the tilt I talked about somewhere earlier in this thread. Today's restyle suits the current angle but I think can easily be tweaked when I get to changing things up. Something to look forward to!

Re: JBP#2 [Ryceman3]
This one also had a repot, transferred it into the pot that was vacated by JBP#1, and got the angle change I was thinking about a couple of years back and have been waiting to implement. The top is a bit of a shaggy mess now with the new angle, but I'll reposition the wiring and get it back into shape when I get a chance.

Absolutely. Makes it look much more resolved and softens the zig-zag look that, in hindsight, it had at the other angle.

Re: JBP#2 [Ryceman3]
Thanks Matt, I think you’re right… it feels less “squat” without really adding to the overall height at all. Win/win!
Yeah… de-emphasising the zig zag was the main driver behind going with this angle. I think it does the job pretty well.Nate.bonsai wrote: ↑August 19th, 2022, 7:11 pm Absolutely. Makes it look much more resolved and softens the zig-zag look that, in hindsight, it had at the other angle.
