Bonsai inspirations from recent trip

Post by ToddB »

My wife and I recently spent 6 weeks travelling through Canada, the Pacific North West of USA and California. I've attached a few of the several hundred photos I took of trees: Individual trees, groves of trees and trees in the landscape. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do and I'll post a few more if people would like me to.
My favorite tree of the entire trip: the venerable Sugar Pine.

Awesome!
Red Firs FTW!
One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Hi ToddB , Mate there is some magnificent inspiration in those pics . I have collected a few Redwoods and Douglas Firs from up here  . Not quite as big as those Monsters ,but the stands here where very impressive for 100 year old tree's :D . I think it would be easier to build a pot or tray around them and call them Super size Mountain Bonsai   .

Thanks for sharing your pics .

Cheers Alpine
