Thick Fig clump

Post by Freckl »

Just collected this urban yamadori fig & have repotted in a styro box with a very free draining mix. Unsure of what var. it is?
Would love some suggestions of what should stay and which 'root' :P :palm: I should go with the styling of the tree. Any & all help/virts are much appreciated!

I would suggest the first and most important step would be to place the box on the floor instead of hanging it from the ceiling. i find they always grow better if you keep them right side up

Ok Rotated the images for you and i recon it is a Tiger bark fig.

Re the roots, I woud be leaving them all as the remind me so much of the pictures of Ankor Wat we see. Not root over rock, but cool all the same

Cut back hard so the tall branches are a couple of inches above the base then regrow all the finer branching to give one continuous rounded canopy.
