Hiya,
Being new to Bonsai's I went out and bought myself a Trident Maple.
In the Perth sun over the last couple of months it's not grown terribly well, I think because of the direct sun and heat (I should have protected it a little better).
At the moment, it looks like a twig in a pot with no leaves. (Well, they were mostly burnt and dead so I cut them off)
Seeing as the base of the twig (trunk) is about 1 cm thick I am thinking I should put it into a big pot and let it grow for a year or more to allow it to grow thicker.
As I have no experience, is this a good or bad idea and why ?
Thanks for any help.
