MelaQuin, Ficus do and will get root rot .... I would advise against putting tree's in trays of water for long periods except if it’s swampy or you are expecting heat wave. JMO

I’m just saying watch the quality, I re-potted a few tree's lately and found that there was a layer of think sludge at the bottom of my pots, it may have just been a bad batch from last year, and the last 3 months on the sunshine coast have been very wet may have also been a contributing factor.
