Hi All,
Just letting you know that there is a Diatomite supplier selling Mt Silvia in Sommerville Vic.
Avaliable in 35lt bags for roughly $25 from:
Vitec -
5 Speedwell Street Somerville VIC 3912
(03) 5977 7600
Give Russell a call to discuss your needs.....
He currently stocks 2-7mm but can also obtain 7-15mm if required.
I am in no way affiliated with or recieving anything from Vitec, just sharing a contact that we have made..
Regards,
Mike

Thank you Lakepipes for this info
as I did not know where to get it in Vic.
Where is Somerville I wonder? I will have to lookit up and also find out if they deliver throughout Melb.
Cheers, Dario.
If they don't deliver ans someone from Melb is is going there to pick some up I would really appreciate a pm if you can also grab a few bags for me?

Just spoke to Russel, he is a very nice fella
and yes they do post etc
Thank you again for providing this info Lakespipes

Re: Mt Silvia supplies - victoria
you all are very welcome.
Yes Dario, Russell is a great bloke.
I spent a lot of time researching the differences between the products and avaliability through customers of the mine in victoria.
When I approached Vitec to see if they would bring some in for me and explained our use and the demise of the Maidenwell site.
With Potting season coming on I have put out my feelers once again to see if he would support our Victorian Bonsai community with product.
He is more than happy to and actually carries the 2-7mm on the shelf now.
I hope this helps, lets face it not being able to obtain our growing medium was going to be a rough one!
Regards,
Mike
