Kiwi pine bark V Black & Gold

Post by Nickbb »

I recently bought a sack of Kiwi brand orchid pine bark, it was not cheap! $60😦 from a local nursery after not finding anything at the big green shed
Yesterday I was in IGA and noticed a couple of bags of Black & Gold pine bark for $6.95. The particle size was probably more like 8-10mm, Am I missing something here?

You get what you pay for. Kiwi bark is very uniform and of high quality but it's not composted or aged as far as I know. I have not seen B&G bark but at $7 a bag I can imagine it's not too fantastic. Probably a lot of skin and wood through it which does not last long. I could be wrong though. Post some pics.
