[Category 1] Melaleuca rhaphiophylla

Post by Pup »

This tree was collected in 1995 February 20Th in Denmark South West Australia, at the same time as the one that is in the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection. It has been in training virtually when dug from a peat swamp on my sons property it was root pruned to clean up any roots that had be broken the height was reduced as it was 1.8 metres tall and about the same in width. Some heavy branches on the inside were removed as were some broken ones. It is hollow from the top to about 2 thirds of of the total height.
It has been photographed in situ as it is too heavy for one man. My helpers were busy!!.
I am often asked how I can be so sure of the date it is my late fathers birthday if he was alive he would be 99.

The tree is 800 mm high
it is 700 mm wide
it is in a Chinese pot
