[category 1] hoop pine- araucaria cunninghamii

Post by Jamie »

this is an entry into the first category, i have had this tree for about 5 years. it was bought as a 35 year old specimen i got it for my wife for our anniversary.
it has a typical weeping habit for the species, i have managed to get it to a stage where i can get a pad like formation for a reasonable time.

here is a pic of it about a month ago before i trimmed it.

and as it is right now, trimming back hard is the only way to get the tree to have this sort of look otherwise the weeping habit comes into play.

unfortunately i cannot find a pic of it in weeping form so i will have to go through my files.
