scientific name: callistemon var unknown
common name: bottlebrush
height: 26cm
width: 42cm
in training since: 20/2/2009
i collected this tree in november of 2009, from a creek on a friends property, it was growing in a rock pocket in the middle of the shallow fast flowing creak. no digging was required the tight rootbound mass was lifted straight from the pocket and slip potted into a styro box.
after explosive growth this february i assesed that the tree was healthy enough for a prune and repot in order to remove the old compact mud.
after another month i allowed it to grow out as much as possible before a final wiring. this tree is extremely old the whole front of the trunk is amazing old deadwood, with hollows in some sections.
also included is a virtual potting one in a pat kennedy pot and on in a john pit pot to give an indication of this trees future
cheers jarryd

You have great foresight, the style is superb and when it gets a little more foliage it will be a show stopper. Love your work
