Small Larch
This Larch (I think it’s European , Larix decidua ) for 9 months of the year sits on a glass shelf attached to a rose arbor in my garden . In summer I have it in a gravel bed .

Re: Small Larch
Wow, what a difference! Not the way I would have gone with it, but an admirable tree. You certainly have a great knack for shaping trees.
Cheers, Frank.

Hard to believe the tree in the first image is the same tree as the last one... progress? Absolutely!

Way to go Craig , that's the way treat those straight boring trees. Give them a good shake up. Cool Tree. Cheers John.

Re: Small Larch
Thanks for the feedback . I hadn’t really thought it was excessive when it was hard chopped because I thought the tree needed more taper . I was growing the bottom branch to ‘gin it ‘ , which will still probably happen in the future unless I ‘gin ‘ the top . Either way I am enjoying its current form .
How does this tree stay on the glass shelf with out blowing away did i hear you ask ? We had 100k plus winds last night and this is the only small tree I don’t put on the ground for protection . It’s actually bolted on .
Hi Mark , you would be more than welcome . Once your cough has cleared up .

Re: Small Larch
I agree . With Larch there is about a month when the buds are just popping to when they get overly bushy they are at the best .Raging Bull wrote: ↑October 20th, 2020, 8:40 pm Lovely looking tree. I like it better with clothes on than naked.
