Not sure how everyone else's trees are going for colour this year but i thought we could put them in a thread together for eveyone to enjoy.

As for my trees it's been an abysmal year for maples both Japanese and Trident. They've really just gone brown without any colour at all. An airlayer did a half-hearted red colour but that's about it.

The Ginkgos are in various stages. Here is the most advanced colour one, a little shohin dwarf ginkgo. My two biggest are only just now getting the very fringes of the leaves turning yellow.

This thing is doing some colour but doesn't really count as it was already colouring up before i got it IE not colour from my elevation/ location

Also this young crepe myrtle i dug as a sucker from a garden tree at my parent's house is putting in a show

Please add in your own trees, mine have been largely uninteresting so i'd love to see some proper colour.

higher temps for a couple of weeks into autumn have confused me and my trees(indian summer?)-- some elms were shutting down but have reshot already -- not sure how to deal with this further into winter. Just have to see what happens.

Great idea Tim, I'll play.
First up is a crab apple that is showing some nice yellow colour this season. The tree needs some work but hey....

This is a trident maple that I dug up last year. I was going to sell it this year but now I've seen the autumn colour it might be a keeper? You seem to get plenty of tridents with yellow foliage but the red colour is more appealing I think.

A little colour change happening on this slightly out of focus group of Chinese elms. It doesn't last very long before the leaf drop. NOBODY TOUCH IT!!!

Well I can't let Watto have all the fun :tu:

My crepe myrtle is putting on a show this year. It's the first year it's been in a bonsai pot. It has some wonderful yellows and deep reds. It kinda looks like it's on fire from a distance :D

Good colour Keels, my crepe myrtle was poor this year but this little Zelcova was OK but I took the photo a bit late.

My elm. The air layered section has already changed colours yet the rest of the tree is green. Odd.

No change in my potted plants in Adelaide yet. The street trees are all changing though so shouldn't be far off.

My trees are notorious for ignoring autumn and a nice vibrant change in leaf colour doesn’t generally rate too highly in their list of priorities... I did find a few trident leaves doing something moderately interesting/attractive. I hope it’s contagious and spreads to the rest of the forest, I’ll take a proper picture if it does, until then... there’s this...

I really enjoy this thread and everyone's wonderful Autumn trees.
Funny how things change from year to year. Last year I had a magnificently coloured trident maple, but this year it hardly coloured and is now dropping its leaves. The crepe myrtle, on the contrary, has never been so beautiful and my big Acer japonicum aconitifolium is spectacular. Sorry, I didn't take a photo of the whole tree and now the leaves are dying off. The crepe myrtle is not the dwarf kind mostly used for bonsai (as far as I know). I bought it 2 years ago because of the trunk movement and this year put it in a nicer growing pot.
