Big ol' plum

Post by Matt S »

Last week my good friend Greg Horner of Bonsai Ceramics took part in a road trip to Moongate nursery in Bendigo. Unfortunately I couldn't join in but Greg was kind enough to bring back this big plum tree for me. Hopefully soon I'll be able to make the trek myself because they have some fantastic yamadori I want to check out, but in the meantime this plum will keep me busy.

It'll take me a few hours just to remove all that wire but I reckon it'll be a lot lighter afterwards!

Ha! Just realised I said this was a plum, when it’s an English Elm. Sorry for the confusion!
Sorry Watto!

Sh*t a brick that’s a big ol thing.
In the blue darkening sky, the moon paints a pine tree.

I love a good English elm as well and this has real potential IMO.
Good luck with it and please share the updates.
