Trident maple

Post by Albo »

The Wife told me to grab something for my Xmas present so I’ve been holding onto that card.
Walked into a local growers shop and this trident was about the 3rd tree I saw and when the owner offered a reasonable price I knew it was the one. The owner told me it was pencil thick when he started growing it 30years ago.

Love the trunk and base. It’s got issues with some scars and branching needs work. Maybe even some root grafts down the track.
But it has presence and is a nice size.

Very happy with it and I’ll have fun trying to improve it in the coming years.

Good size trunk for starting development on and an excellent choice for a christmas present to yourself!
