Photoshopped together.

It has Mary's approval and will be done in spring.

This is one of my most favourite trees at the collection,

Very nice Grant, I would like to see the roots adjusted though. To make it a more beautiful tree.

Cheers Pup

Hi Grant,

I do agree with both Pup and Steven.

I feel the roots should be adjusted a little.

And Steven id right, your photoshopping is great.

But may I add some thought?

My eye goes to all the straight areas on the tree, the upper area of the trunk as well as the right hand branches.

May I offer what I saw in the tree?

just a thought?

The new pot still seems to work.

Paul

Hi everyone,

just thought would tweak things a little more to suit the new style.

Perhaps in a smaller rounder pot of the same new colour ?

I know the jin may not work, but just a different way of looking at things.

Sorry everyone,

but I just couldnt help myself.

I use a small laptop most of the time, and didnt notice that the pot had deformations when I adjusted its size.

So While I was `fixing` that image, I re-worked things one more time.

Hope this image still looks OK ?

Agreed, maybe a clean up of the roots with 'space' under them?

Good to see lots of interest in the tree.

Jin on a Seiju elm would last precisely 5 minutes as the wood is extremely soft.

The trees in the collection are always being improved; just slowly as they are on display all year round.

Sorry Grant I can't agree with this pot. I think the inward top then rim is fighting with the tree in some way. It IS a very nice pot but just not perfect for this bonsai I reckon. Although the pot is not to small it does make it seem as though it is. I think it should go with a some what heavier tree.

I see this as a far view tree and should show plenty of open space around the roots like it is from an open field. I am thinking a pot about the same size as the original, without the banding but maybe with a slightly outward sloping wall or a slight rim. Doesn't sound great but I will have a browse and see if I can put a picture with my words.
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

Too late Brett! Its already been photoshopped and I just can't get it out of that pot.

However your opinion of pot will be interesting. Thats what these forums are for afterall.
