Re: Privet
Hmm this one is harder to critique. It is a very good looking tree and it is nice to see a natural look but I wonder if it can be refined some more?
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

Re: Privet
The nebari looks pretty decent, but that's about all i can see. IMO i would like to see it opened up a bit more, so more of its structure can be revealed.

Re: Privet
Hi Leigh,
nice nebari. Let me guess that the tree has not been rotated for a while and the right hand side has been getting a lot more sun than the left.
to my eye, the left side of the trunk has its branching directed downward and the right hand branches are heading upward and appear longer.
cheers
Dave

Thanks for your comments guys - feel free to continue discussing.
Dave, I cant remember, but you are probably right about that. This tree was stolen from me a few years back, shortly after this pic I gave it a good prune, wire and repot....it was looking great! Seems the thieves thought so too!
Cheers,
Leigh.

Re: Privet
Not much to do but as you say, give it a trim back and tidy up. the top needs to come down slightly but it is what I call a "Finished tree". Maintenance pruning only
