Excellent trunk, excellent carve. Please grow the top long and thick, and cut it back several times, build complexity stage by stage, so that that magical trunk doesn't just disappear into little stuff. Takes longer, looks better.
The right hand branch might come off a bit flatter, if you want to be picky. No smooth round curves. Now's the time to monster it.
Very good base for a good tree down the track, to me.
Hi Goff , have to agree with some of the other comments . Very natural looking carving , one of the hardest things to master . Top effort especially if its your first , i would have to add you definitely have a natural talent for this carving caper . Cheers Alpine
Thanks guys!! Really love the carving side of bonsai Graham potter has really open my eyes up to starting with average stock and turning into something magic! Bodhidharma I tried some lime sulfur on another olive tree and was really unhappy with the way it turned out. It looked fake, so I'm undecided on what to do. Maybe some wood hardener like earls.
