Anyone have 1 of these?
Recently dug up out of garden, lightly pruned.

I have collected several from garden renovations. None that are bonsai yet.
My experience is that they will re-establish from very few roots, can bud on old, bare wood and even roots will sprout and grow into new plants.

Thanks Shibui, this is doing very well, flowering since the dig, which is good news.

Any update on this plant?

I'm trying one and am interested in any information.

Try your hand at Breynia ‘ironstone’

It’s a beautiful alternative to Loropetalum, and pretty easy to grow and flowers easily. The weeping of their branches make it all the more majestic as they age.

I saw some online a year or so ago, here and on fb. Here are some I've nicked off the interwebs.

I have one coming along in a bonsai pot atm, but still settling in.

They're pretty popular in China.

Love the pot colour; really compliments the bark all year, and the flowers, now. Great shot of colour for the New Year.

Mine is growing OK but still in "recovery mode" after it objected to a transplant in the garden. It originally came from my mum's garden (wasn't happy with her black clay soils). It was planted in our garden and flowered nicely for a few seasons but wasn't growing well. Tried a transplant to a spot with more sun but it really took offence then. Got to the chuck it out or try it as bonsai stage so it was potted on into a large bonsai pot, all the dead wood cut out and put on a bench to recover.

I try to limit the trees I have be requiring them to have some provenance; gifts from friends or friends gardens, plants from areas we've lived in or of significance to us. I'd like to make something of this one as a cheery reminder of mum.

I can't seem to find much growing info on them. It doesn't seem very willing to back bud but it could do with some branches lower down. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has tried thread grafting with them. Any info would be handy. I'll keep hunting the internet and see what I can come up with, or , eventually, try it and see.

From my little bit of experience with this one I've found it back buds ok once it's happy in the pot. You just have to give it time to recover. This one doesn't much like full sun, especially now. I've moved it to a half and half spot, but may even shift it to where it's getting dappled light all day.
