Olive from peterb

Post by Matt S »

I bought this Olive from peterb back in Feb before he left for England and I promised him I'd post updates of all the trees I bought from him.

Today was the first time I've really done anything to it, just trimming and wiring all the branches into position. The lowest branch needs to thicken so I've identified a sacrifice branch that I'll let grow for a season or two. Next year I'll look for a shallower pot.

So Peter, I hope you're doing well because all of your trees are!

Cheers,
Matt.

Hi Matt, thank you so much for posting the olive. So miss all my trees. The olive is looking really good. What did you ever do with the large juniper

Cheers

Hey Peter,

That big Juniper is looking good, although I haven't done any styling yet. I attempted to graft shimpaku onto it, but lost all the grafts during last year's heatwave. This year I repotted it and replaced the last of the original soil and it's really put on a lot of healthy compact growth so I'm going to proceed with the current foliage. Last year we had Andrew Sellman visit and we came up with some good ideas, so there should be something to show in 2021.

The Olive in this post was repotted a few weeks ago into an oval pot so I'll put up a picture when I get the chance, maybe 2024 ;)

Matt.

Am so looking forward to seeing what you do with them, both the olive and the juniper. Glad they're in good hands.

Cheers
Peterb
