One Tree Hill - English Box

I have been growing these in a different pot for a a few years now. I trimmed them some weeks back and was somewhat under-whelmed. For a bit of fun and to see if I could improve the layout, I rearranged them in a different pot today. I think it looks better ... whether I keep them as a long term project is still to be decided but I can enjoy looking at them now.

Old photos first ...

and then today's re-arrangement below. Better pot, better layout (at least I think) ... long way to go.

Definitely moving that group forward I think. The new pot/layout is more authentic to me and creates a stronger feeling of perspective which is what you want in a group planting. I like the biggest tree on top of the mound and the youngsters dispersed around. The original planting was a bit one dimensional for me.

Agree with Ryceman the layout is much stronger. Open view of no one is very nice. Cheers John.
