I think it's the lack of taper with these that create problems-after saying that I really don't have any suggestions :palm:

Hi pure hart
I think all your need to do now is to do the secondary branch wiring to define the ramifications ie to flatten out the pads and create the spaces. Also remove the little Jin going down ;)

Yes I think you are spot on... I don’t think I will ever be happy with this tree and I’ll end up killing it... so I will donate it to a non bonsai friend that thinks it is amazing and will love it as I could never do...

Keep going pureheart. I can see potential for a literati semi cascade. Just need to be patient. Let the tree grow some.

Have you thought of stripping off some bark at the top and creating artificial taper for a literati?
