Starting to green up again as spring kicks in. I like this tree.

About a month away from decandling and things look to be on track. One more teabag to go on...

Re: JRP#1 [Ryceman3]
Decandled this today, it has put out a lot of nice growth so I should see a good reaction and plenty of ramification as a result.

Autumn update for this three. No re-wire, the previous application was still doing an OK job and not enough bite to warrant re-doing it.

Re: JRP#1 [Ryceman3]
Not really an update, but since it is Father's Day, I thought I'd post this shot of my "other" child and his favourite pine tree that I took today.
Hope all had a great day, but particularly the blokes with kids (of any kind)!
(A particular shout out to MJL who has requested shots with the cat in the past ... )

Got a laugh out of this; my (only) child just listed our two cats as brother and sister when asked by another kid at the playground.

Re: JRP#1 [Ryceman3]
Yep… makes sense.
My daughter did the same. We had two cats (boy and girl), but just the one remaining…. I remember a similar conversation not too long ago.
I’ll be honest though, the win here should be that kids are allowed at a playground! How good is 2021!

Being owned by an Abyssinian cat is indeed an honour and a pleasure. And they usually have a perfect sense of composition for photographs, there's much to learn from them. Tree is excellent too. Your cat has taught you well!

These are some of my favourite bonsai photos. Nup, they are my favourite… what tree? (Even though the tree is lovely.)

Re: JRP#1 [Ryceman3]
Never a dull moment with an Abyssinian ... he's getting on now so not quite as hardcore as he was in his prime, but he still knows how to work a room. People are just putty in his paws!
One day the tree will be worthy of the cat it is posted with ... with any luck anyway!
Should probably think about changing the thread name until that eventuates ...

Re: JRP#1 [Ryceman3]
Autumn update for this pine, finished off wiring after a clean up yesterday.
No decandling in summer, I thought it could do with a year off, so the head of needles is longer and denser this year.
Possibly a "helmet" developing or just advancing refinement? ... you'd need to see it in real life I think to really evaluate that. It's not the intention but as long as it doesn't creep into "stack hat" territory I can appreciate it. Each to their own!
Love the change in colour on the needles for this over winter ... it's a cool thing to see on a conifer.
