Hi
I thought this might be interesting and shows an appreciation of how much work goes into bonsai in Japan.

The rest of the series are also very informative for those interested in field grown pines. Some videos have subtitle and some don't but watching the video is informative even without the subtitle.
Enjoy

Thanks Longd-au! Appreciate you sharing - great lunchtime viewing - I also watched the same gentleman trim one of the field trees too. He’s only got about 500 to go!
Incredible- I’ll try to remain excited about my little twigs now.

No problem. 1000 5 needles pines planted by his grand father and most of them are 100 yrs old and still in the field.MJL wrote: ↑September 28th, 2020, 2:47 pm Thanks Longd-au! In the one he dug one of the pine out, he didn't remove much of the soil and was going to leave it in the pot for 3 yrs before a repot. I assume at that point, he will remove some old soil which looks quite compact.
Several other talks are in Japanese but I hope they get subtitles soon.
