In January 2021 I posted a story on a yew and this is its sister both purchased at the same time.
I have had this for quite a few years and didn't really know what to do with it so I took it along to a meeting of the Goulburn Bonsai Society and we sat it on the turntable, spun it around, turned it this way and that and finally came to a committee conclusion on its future. This is one of the great benefits of belonging to bonsai clubs, being able to discuss "problem" trees with others trying to find the best tree within.
The first couple of photos could have been the front and had I removed a couple of jins at each side the taper would have been greatly improved.

This is the other side and could also have made an OK front. This side would show the jins with the foliage as the background, while the other would have shown the foliage with the jins peeking through

After long discussion and evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of each option, this side was chosen.

Some cutting and trimming, some wire and it is set for its next stage in life. Deadwood on one side and foliage pads on the other.

It also comes with with its own accent plant, and of course one with the standard measuring device.
