Black pine (probably), with yellow needles

Post by patos »

Hey, my father bought bonsai tree, it is less then 2 weeks here. I think thats black pine.

Since a few days the needles have begun to yellow, we do not know what could be happening. The tree is more than 3 meters.

It is very well rooted, weighing about 400 kg. Could anyone come up with a thesis.

You don’t say where you are? Sydney, Melbourne, Australia?
Pines do loose their old needles, more information would be helpful. You say you only just got it was it repotted? How often are you watering? If you did repot how were the roots? Was it pot bound? Looking at the growth on the ends it looks ok. So more info from you would give you better answers.

It's basically ok apart from strangling itself with it's roots.
