Anyone know what this is?

Post by Jester »

Hi Guys, in my street there is a tree which produces the beautiful flowers below but I don't know what it is. I am assuming that it belongs to the Prunus family because of the trunk and texture of the flowers but I don't know for sure. The tree is about 11 feet high and flowering had occured between winter and spring (I think). I'm guessing it might be a flowering peach or almond. Can anyone enlighten me. Oh, and if you know, could you also provide the botanical name pls. (Sheesh, I'm really pushing my luck are'nt I?)

No, nothing like that, but I am fascinated by the many species of the prunus family
